I studied Physics under the Astrophysics specialization. I chose the Sun as the most important star, so I focussed on solar thermal energy pretty soon. With a PhD in Physics, a have short stays at the Solar Energy Group of the Complutense University (Spain) and at the von Karman Institute of Fluid Dynamics (Brussels, Belgium). Although I’m placed in Madrid, I started working at the Plataforma Solar of Almería (CIEMAT) focussing on modelling of parabolic trough collectors for their thermohydraulic optimization and, by 2007, I moved to thermal storage systems, being the coordinator of such activities till the end of 2022. In parallel to my R&D activities at PSA, I lectured at the Complutense University for 5 years and since 2017-2018 course I lecture at the University of Almería on its Solar Energy Master course.
